Good quality thread

Gutermann or Rassant thread.

Only good quality thread will get you through.

Always buy the best quality thread you can afford, as you get what you pay for.

Gutermann or rassant thread is great for sewing machines. Robison Anton is a good embroidery thread to use.

If your thread is snapping, it may be the quality but it could also be old thread.

If you have problems with tensions, check you have threaded properly.

I have a range of Rassant thread in Perth for purchase.

FAQs

If you have any questions at all please don’t hesitate to get in contact.

You love your machine but you just don’t use it very often. If you want longevity out of your machine, you need to give it a run now and again. Sewing machines and overlockers like to be used, with lack of use being one of the biggest causes of irreparable damage. When you pack up your machine and pop it away, over a long period of not being used, the lubricants can dry, harden, and allow corrosion. This then seizes the mechanisms of the machine. Then when you next want to quickly stitch an edge, you’ll find the flywheel is seized so tightly that you can’t turn it. Often we can rescue your machine, but sadly sometimes it can’t be saved. A good way to avoid this is to give your machine a run every now and then to get the parts and the lubricants moving. Regular servicing will replace dried oil and remove built-up fluff and lint to keep your machine running smoothly.

The rule of thumb is every 2 years whether you use the machine or not. If you use the machine often it is recommended the machine be serviced every year.

Usually you are only without your machine for a week or so. That is the fastest turnaround I know of.  I have a huge range of parts, but if I need to order something then it will take a little longer.

If possible, it would be good if you could supply all that came with the machine. The items that are essential though are:

Foot control and cords

The correct bobbin and bobbin case

Normal zigzag sewing foot

The embroidery hoop and embroidery foot if it is an embroidery machine
